There's a school trip students will remember forever. It's not the one to the museum, not the chocolate factory. It's the one where they flew at 80 km/h over the Dolomites, screamed with joy alongside classmates, and discovered that courage exists even when your knees are shaking. The zipline in the Dolomites is the school outing that bonds a class like nothing else.
Participation Requirements
Based on Weight, Not Age
Unlike many adventure activities, our zipline doesn't have a strict minimum age. The requirement is weight-based: a minimum of 25 kg is needed to ensure the harness works properly and speed on the line is adequate.
This means most students from around age 8-9 onwards can participate without issues. For classes with students under 25 kg, we offer alternative activities in the area.
There is no fixed minimum age: the requirement is at least 25 kg body weight. This guarantees harness safety and adequate cable speed. All students meeting this requirement can fly, accompanied by teacher supervision and our certified staff.
Supervision and Safety
Student safety is our absolute priority. Here's what we provide:
- Dedicated briefing adapted to the group's age
- Enhanced staff-to-student ratio compared to adult groups
- Teacher supervision included — teachers accompany the group free of charge
- Certified protocols meeting the strictest European regulations
For more on our safety standards, read the zipline safety guide.
The Educational Value of Zipline
A school trip shouldn't be just fun. With zipline in the Dolomites, students learn without realising it.
Physics in Action
The zipline is an open-air physics laboratory. During the experience and briefing, students discover real concepts:
- Gravity and acceleration: why do you speed up on downhill sections?
- Friction and aerodynamics: how do they affect cable speed?
- Potential and kinetic energy: real-time conversion while flying
- Forces and vectors: why does the harness distribute weight that way?
We recommend science teachers prepare a worksheet before the trip. Questions like "estimate maximum speed" or "calculate potential energy at the start" transform the adventure into a complete educational experience. We provide technical data on request.
Geography and Environment
Flying above Val di Marebbe, students see the Dolomites from a unique perspective:
- Dolomite geology: how were these UNESCO World Heritage mountains formed?
- Alpine ecosystem: vegetation changing with altitude
- Environmental awareness: the importance of conserving these landscapes
- Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park: one of the most precious natural environments in the Alps
Personal Growth
Beyond school subjects, the zipline teaches life lessons:
- Fear management: facing something scary and discovering you can do it
- Mutual encouragement: the classmate who's afraid needs your support
- Trust: in the operators, the equipment, yourself
Combine with Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park
For a complete trip, we recommend combining zipline with an educational hike in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. The ideal programme:
- Morning: zipline — 1h30 of pure adrenaline
- Lunch: packed lunch or at a mountain hut
- Afternoon: guided hike in the park, focusing on flora, fauna, and Ladin legends
This combination offers a complete experience covering science, geography, environmental education, and personal growth in a single day.
Special School Pricing
Adrenaline Adventures offers dedicated school rates, significantly reduced from standard prices. For classes of 20-30 students:
- Reduced price per student
- Free entry for accompanying teachers (1 per 10 students)
- 4K video of the experience at a reduced rate
- Educational materials with zipline technical data on request
The Graduation Trip That Bonds Forever
For final-year classes, the zipline trip is the experience that seals years of friendship. It's not the usual beach week — it's something that creates an indelible memory. Students will talk about it at their 10-year reunion, show the videos to their own children, and remember who was first to jump and who needed a little extra encouragement.
Logistics for Schools
How to Get There
San Vigilio di Marebbe is easily reachable by coach. For South Tyrolean schools, the journey is short: about 1 hour from Bolzano, 45 minutes from Bruneck, 30 minutes from Brixen via Plan de Corones. See our guide on how to get there.
Groups of 20-30 Students
The ideal class size. The experience lasts approximately 1h30 and our staff manages the group with care and professionalism.
Booking
For school trips, we recommend booking at least 6 weeks in advance, especially for May and June, the most requested months.
